Gap has been killing it as of late with its rebrand. Its pieces are reminiscent of classic ’90s silhouettes and include things like 100% cotton sweaters, coastal barn jackets and classic denim. Luckily, the retailer is treating us to up to 75% off and an additional 50% off sweaters and other markdowns to kick off the New Year, which comes in handy with this week’s cold front sweeping certain parts of the country.
Months ago, I stocked up on cable knit sweaters and chunky cotton v-necks for the fall. So far, they’re holding up beautifully in the wash and are of a similar quality to my mom’s pastel Nordic knit from the ’80s. I’ve narrowed down the best finds in the women’s and men’s departments, but when it comes down to it, many of these pieces have a gender neutral and even androgynous look that will remain timeless for years to come.

Gap Wool Boyfriend Shirt Jacket
This long lined shacket is great for throwing over the chunkiest sweaters and will even add a pop of coolness to a classic white tee and denim uniform. The Neutral Tan Plaid is over $150 off and is available in all seven sizes.

Gap Mid Rise ’90s Loose Carpenter Jeans
As many of us know, skinny jeans are and have been out of style. But, if you aren’t a loose jean convert, perhaps these stylish carpenters will sway you. The chic Dark Indigo will elevate dressed-down looks and the mid-rise waist is suitable for all-day wear.

Gap Relaxed Balloon-Sleeve Sweater
The black, beige and tan colors are at their lowest prices, making this soft cotton sweater an even easier buy. Its tasteful ribbed hem adds a polished finish and its long balloon sleeves are a subtle feminine touch.

Gap Mid Rise Downtown Khakis
Whether you love them or hate them, khakis are here to stay. Gap has always made iconic chinos that look equally as good with penny loafers as they do with a pair of Chucks, and now you can score them for as low as $20.

Gap Oversized Split-Hem Mockneck Sweater
As one of the sweaters that I purchased in the fall, this mockneck has become a staple in my cold weather wardrobe. It has a slight bell sleeve and is great for layering during those particularly chilly days.

Gap Corduroy Jacket
A thin corduroy jacket is a must in your closet. This pick is reminiscent of one I spotted while thrifting a few years back but has a bit of a more refined or modern finish.

Gap Double-Knee Canvas Utility Baggy Jeans
Is this Carhartt Work In Progress or the Gap? Clearly, the Gap is up on workwear and other utilitarian trends with their take on these double-knee jeans.

Gap Recycled Modern Puffer Jacket
I am obsessed with this adorable puffer. The stitching at the top gives a bit of a western flare, and I know it would pair perfectly with a vintage pair of Levi’s.

Gap Classic Oxford Shirt in Standard Fit
I don’t know about you, but my first “work shirt” was a blue Oxford and I hated its slim fit. This standard take is a bit roomier but is still tapered enough to dress up for those in-office days. I’d love this for casual days out with a pair of kicks. With some styles as low as $13, how could you pass it up?
$60 From $13 at Gap
Gap Modern Khakis in Baggy Fit
Men’s pants have a hold on me, especially the ones from the Gap. Baggy khakis with a wider leg hit in all of the right places. This pair is similar to the popular Wilfred Free Trousers from Aritiza but come at a fraction of the price.

Why this Gap sale is worth shopping
Most of us know that Gap is constantly having a sale. If they aren’t advertising one, you can usually find a 15 or 20% code to use online and even in stores. So, when I spotted this event earlier today I knew I had to cover it given the deals are up to 75% off with an extra 50% off markdowns at checkout. It’s worth shopping this sale because we’re heading into the thick of winter and perhaps you want some affordable clothing pieces for the new year.
